"I have been going to Sarah for massage and consultation for over a year now. I find her to be very attentive and sensitive to my specific needs. This is no generic massage! Through her great style of communication and extensive anatomical knowledge she has helped me immensely with several troubling areas. I highly recommend her!!!" S.F. cyclist & swimmer
I truly believe that everyone can benefit from massage therapy. There are so many techniques, styles, and approaches to massage that can be used to fit each person's particular needs. The key is to connect with a therapist who has the right skill set for you. One of the things I enjoy the most about my work is it's changing nature. I find that I am always growing and learning as my clients bodies grow and change. Time to discuss how you and your body are feeling are incorporated into every session.
Your massage may consist of one or more of the following:
Swedish Massage ~ This type of massage is very relaxing with connecting, graceful strokes used to warm up the muscles and calm the mind. It can be a great way to feel nurtured and destress.
Neuromuscular Therapy ~ Neuromuscular is a combination of Deep Tissue massage and Trigger point Therapy. This is that "hurts so good" type of massage. Pressure can always be adjusted for comfort level. This modality can be very therapeutic for chronic pain and recovery from muscular injuries.
Myofascial Release ~ This is a gentle form of bodywork that has tremendous benefits. It is performed without the use of cream or lotion and works with the connective tissue in the body as opposed to the muscles themselves. It is very effective in resolving muscular issues as well as emotional traumas or memories we may be storing in the body.
Energywork ~ Physical discomfort, stress, decreased body function, etc can all be related to issues concerning the body's energy flow. Depending on the area and issue this can be a weakened flow, overenergized flow or a stagnation/blockage of flow. Incorporating subtler techniques of shifting the body into balance is a wonderful complement to the massage work. This work is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine Meridians, Yogic Chakra System, Reiki or Reflexology. More information: Intuitive Energy Balancing.
